The ophthalmic technician program delivers information to the student in a logical manner starting with the the basics of anatomy and physiology of the eye and continuing through to ophthalmic diseases and disorders. A list of topics covered include:

Each topic gets delivered as a lecture, and is followed by review sessions to ensure student understanding. Once appropriate, hands-ons sessions are held where the students have the opportunity to practice their skills on one another in a controlled environment. Once comfortable and proficient performing the skill in the lab environment, the students are then able to practice the skill under supervision in the clinical rotations.
