Troubleshooting

1. Live video isn't playing

The Echo360 platform uses Adobe Flash for the live broadcast of grand rounds.

Some browsers will block Flash from running by default. If you load the live broadcast of a Grand Rounds broadcast, and nothing plays, please check whether flash is enabled. See below for browser-specific solutions.

If you encounter a message such as "Adobe Flash Player 9.0 or above is required to view this content", please do the following:

  1. Click the padlock Icon to the left of the Website URL near the top of your browser window
  2. Select "Flash" from the drop-down menu
  3. Select "Always allow on this site"
  4. Reload the page
  1. Ensure that you are on the echo360 website*
  2. Select "Activate Flash" (brick symbol to the left of the URL)
  3. Select "Always allow" from the popup

*following these steps when a different website is in the active window will allow flash for that website, instead of the Grand Rounds Webcast Echo360 site. This will both fail to solve the problem, and potentially allow unwanted content from other websites.

  1. You should see a popup saying "Adobe Flash content was blocked"
  2. Ensure that you are on the echo360 website*
  3. Select "Always allow"

*If a different website is active, you will be allowing Flash for that website instead of the Grand Rounds Webcast Echo360 site. This will both fail to solve the problem, and potentially allow unwanted content from other websites.

  1. Open the "View" menu in Safari
  2. Select "Reload Page with Plug-Ins" option.
  3. The Echo recording should play as intended.

Please note: Live streaming is not available on most mobile devices

The mobile app does not allow for live-viewing of a lecture. You may be able to view the lecture live through a web browser on your mobile device.

You can view the completed video using the app on your mobile device once it becomes available.

2. Where do I find the lectures?

Once you log in to your echo360 account, you will see the Grand Rounds Webcast class. On the day of a lecture, that lecture will appear with a green dot and "Live" beside it.

If you are tuning in early, there will be a countdown before the lecture begins. Once the lecture is live, you will be able to view. During a live broadcast, you are not able to rewind or replay the stream.

3. How do I ask questions?

While watching a Grand Rounds Webcast, you can click on the speech bubble + icon to launch the new question panel. You can also click on the overlapping speech bubbles to view the discussion, and from there you can also pose a question or participate in discussion.

It may not always be possible to address all questions during the live session owing to time constraints. Every effort will be made to reply to all questions within one week of the live presentation.
