    Dr. Baxter was awarded a SEAMO Endowed Scholarship and Education Fund for the "Development and Evaluation of Competency-based Assessment Tools for the Department of Ophthalmology". The value of this Endowed Scholarship is ($14,180).

  • Congratulations to Dr. Delan Jinapriya

    Dr. Jinapriya received funding from the Glaucoma Research Society of Canada for two research studies: "Biometric and Refractive Status of a Canadian Narrow Angle Population and the degree of angle opening post peripheral iridotomy" ($20,000) and "Randomized Control Trial of Retrobulbar Injection vs IV Analgesia for Transscleral Diode Laser" ($6720).

    Congratulations to Dr. Sharma who was recently awarded a 2016 Senior Clinical Research Grant to conduct a study on "Microbiome Diversity and Age-Related Macular Degeneration Risk". The value of the award is $18,000.

    Dr. Campbell was recently awarded a CIHR Project Grant in the amount of $110,000 to study the “Comparative safety of aflibercept and ranibizumab in the treatment of retinal diseases”.

    Dr. Rullo was recently awarded a 2016 Junior Clinical Research Grant in the amount of $5000 to carry out a research study on: "Tachyphylaxis in Neovascular Diseases of the Eye: Intraocular immune activation to intravitreal anti-VEGF"

    Dr. Xu (PGY-4) was selected as one of 10 winners of the 2016 Foundation Resident Excellence Award. The award is given for exemplary performance in the areas of research, patient care, leadership and education.

  • Congratulations to Dr. Stephanie Baxter, recipient of the 2015 HF Pross Educational Technology Award.

    She receives this prestigious award for her demonstrated leadership in the innovative use of educational technology in medical education. Dr. Baxter created and introduced the “Eye Image Tester” an online, optic disc matching program which has become an invaluable teaching and learning tool for Queen’s medical students.

    Congratulations to Dr. Johnson for receiving the PSI Foundation Resident Research Prize for his paper entitled "Efficacy of intravenous mannitol as an adjunct to lateral canthotomy and cantholysis in the management of orbital compartment syndrome; a non-human primate model".  Dr. Johnson's paper will go forward to the Canadian Society for Clinical Investigation to be considered for their Resident Research Prize.
